Anyone have a tweetbot regex mute filter that mutes all tweets that have images with no additional comment in the tweet?
Asking for a friend who is me.
@dan What's a "tweet"?
@tsturm It’s pain in text form
@dan Ah yes. The memories are coming back.
@tsturm I can’t wait till all these apps are smart enough to recognize and block screenshots of text.
@dan That sounds like a valid feature to add to any of the toot apps. Not sure Twitter would implement that, though.
@tsturm Definitely. I was trying to figure out how to just mute everything that started with “pic.twitter.com” which I’m pretty sure is possible, I just don’t know how to do it yet.
@dan At work I run all my iPhone traffic through a proxy on my Mac (so the Mac is the Wifi hotspot for the phone) - with that setup it would trivially easy to block a specific subdomain.
Works like a charm, too. If my phone detects my work Mac it automatically uses it as hotspot and switches to the proxy IP address. Everywhere else it's a normal phone.
(I use the proxy for mobile testing of work stuff)
@tsturm Ha. That seems like a bit of overkill, but very effective. I just need to figure out how to create a regex that matches to “starts with string pic.twitter.com”
@dan I stupidly responded to a tweet last week since it was about something I kinda thought was important for our city and literally the first response within a minute was a sarcastic bullshit teardown that made me angry and frustrated.
I hope I've learned my lesson.
@tsturm The safest way I’ve found to dip back into twitter is to stick to primarily replying to friends. Everything other than that is a pain in the ass.
@dan you just tweet at them and say “this isn’t Instagram bro”
@powerllama But then Ry will just keep sending me the help article about unfollowing people.
